PSG star Edinson Cavani is prepared to join Manchester United in their bid to re-kindle the glory days ta Old Traffod despite missing out on Champions League football this season.
PSG attackers Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani have both been linked with summer moves following reports of their fallout with manager Laurent Blanc and they also believe their style of play would be suited to the English game.
The pair had announced their discontent on life in the French capital and this led to an opening for discussions with Chelsea as they feel they have been overshadowed by main man Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
But with the Old Trafford side preparing for a British transfer record of £60m for the Uruguayan forward, there will be a massive boost for a side in desperate need of lift should the deal happen.
Cavani has reportedly told friends that his interest lies with United at the moment, despite Moyes’ successor remaining unconfirmed.
A source close to the Ligue 1 star said: “Edinson believes he will be a perfect fit in England. He knows that United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all interested and would be happy to talk to any of them. But he also knows United seem the most keen and that is a factor.”
The 27 year-old is clearly not concerned about missing out on Champions League football next season, having been convinced that this was a one-off season and within a year, United will be back in Europe’s elite.
Landing the forward would be a major boost for United and would assert their dominance howver PSG would be reluctant to let Cavani go having spent an impressive amount of money to sign him from Napoli.
However if Cavani makes it clear that he wants to leave the Parc des Princes, and with UEFA becoming more strict with Financial Fair Play regulations, the Parisiens will listen to any significant offers.
