The striker is attracting interest from all around Europe

Edinson Cavani could be about to join Juventus in this summer’s transfer window according to reports in Italy.

Manchester United seemed to be the front runners for the Paris Saint-Germain striker. However, according to Italian media source La Gazzetta dello Sport, Cavani will join Serie A champions Juventus in the coming months.

The Uruguay international admitted leaving the Ligue 1 champions could be a possibility, as he wants to play through the middle rather than wide in a front three.

“I don’t know whether I will stay at PSG.”

When speaking to GQ, Cavani said: “I don’t know whether I will stay at PSG. I might stay, I might leave. You never know what will happen in football. I want to play as a striker. I would without a doubt do much better in my own position.”

He also added: “When I arrived at PSG, I was forced to play on the wing. People don’t understand how much that has influenced my performances. I would score a lot more if I was played as a striker.”

It is believed Juventus are targeting at least one striker this summer, so that in form man Carlos Tevez can have a consistent partner up top. Alvaro Morata usually partners the Argentine, with Fernando Llorente not performing at his best since moving from Athletic Bilbao in 2013.

The 28-year old Cavani now looks to be the primary target for Juve, despite this, newspapers have suggested they are also keeping tabs on Palermo striker Paulo Dybala.

Dybala has been the subject of interest from Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea.
