Duo have no grudges after move nearly collapsed
Goalkeeper Petr Cech has admitted that his relationship with manager Jose Mourinho has not changed since his move from Chelsea to rivals Arsenal.
The 33-year-old officially joined Arsenal for £10million earlier this week after losing his starting place at Stamford Bridge to Belgium international Thibaut Courtois.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho did not want the Czech Republic international to move to any rival club in the Premier League but owner Roman Abramovich agreed to Cech’s wishes of staying in England at a top four club as a ‘thank-you gift’ for his 11 years of service at Stamford Bridge.
However, Cech insists that the relationship with Mourinho is still strong and has left Chelsea in good spirits.
Cech Reveals Relationship
He said: “Jose is one of the best managers in the world, our relationship hasn’t changed although he went with Thibaut Courtois last season.
“But we respect each other. He made his decision and I made mine.
“We had a good chat – I know he wanted me to stay but that’s the way it goes.” he added.
