Chelsea keeper Petr Cech wants reassurances from the club regarding his future, amid talk of a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Cech, who joined Chelsea in 2004, faces a fight for his jersey with Thibault Courtois this season. Courtois was in goal for the Blues opening Premier League game with Burnley on Monday.
Cech is set for a meeting in the coming days with boss Jose Mourinho, with the understanding that the club could be willing to let him go if he sees his future elsewhere.
Real Madrid, Monaco and Paris St Germain are all monitoring the situation closely, but with the transfer deadline looming, they will need to act fast.
Mourinho faces a battle to keep both of his top class keepers happy, and has stated his intentions to give them both opportunities to stake their claim in high profile games.
The Portuguese said “Obviously you cannot change a keeper if he makes a mistake, but you can change if he makes five mistakes. if the goalkeeper brings stability to the team, I see no reason to change”.
Courtois has previously stated that he didn’t return to Chelsea from loan at Atletico Madrid to sit on the bench?
