Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has signed a new five-year deal at Stamford Bridge, after becoming a crucial part of Jose Mourinho’s team.
The Spaniard joined the West London club back in 2012 from French side, Marseille, and since then, has gone on to make nearly 100 appearances, becoming a fan favourite in the process.
Azpilicueta was given a massive confidence boost by Mourinho when the manager decided to pick him over Ashley Cole at left-back, despite the Englishman nailing on that position for the past decade at Stamford Bridge.
Despite being a natural right-back, Azpilicueta was one of Chelsea’s top performers last season, and won the Players’ Player of the Year last season.
