Chelsea midfielder, Cesc Fabregas, believes Lionel Messi remains happy at FC Barcelona and won’t be leaving the club anytime soon.
The Argentine star has been strongly linked with a move away from the Nou Camp in recent weeks, with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain both keen on signing him, but according to his former team-mate, the speculation is just paper talk.
Fabregas, who is now at Chelsea after leaving Barca over the Summer, believes the star is still happy at his boyhood club and has no intentions of leaving, despite what the papers are reporting.
When asked about Messi, Fabregas also refused to discuss whether he’d talk to the winger and try and persuade him to come to Stamford Bridge.
‘It annoys me when people say I am the middleman in a move for Messi to Chelsea,’ Fabregas said. ‘I do not get involved in anything like that. I am a football player.
‘Leo is happy at Barça and Barça are happy with him. All of this is simpler and more normal than what has been mounted with Leo following Chelsea on Instagram.
‘Messi started to follow me out of respect, I guess. I also currently follow other teams.’
