The midfielder has claimed he will prove he deserves a first-team spot at Stamford Bridge

Cesc Fabregas is determined to prove that he belongs in the Chelsea first-team.

The midfielder has been a key figure for the Blues over the last few seasons but since the beginning of the 2016/17 campaign, the Spaniard has yet to start a game for Chelsea in the league.

He’s been left on the sidelines by new boss Antonio Conte and he is desperate to get back into the first-team picture.

Proving himself

The 29-year old has claimed he is trying to prove himself in any way that he can in the hopes of getting himself a start in the Premier League.

Fabregas said: “It’s a new situation for me in my career after 13 years of basically playing all the time for my club and national team.

“And it’s been tough – I’m not going to deny it. But the last thing I will do is complain or put my hands up and give in. Something from inside is coming out stronger than ever and I just feel like a little boy in training trying to win my spot back as I used to do at Arsenal when I was 16.”

That determination could see him win a place back in the first-team in no time and get the gametime he craves again.
