Cesc Fabregas REVEALS why he isn’t starting for the Blues this season!

The Blues Boss wants Cesc Fabregas to work more on the defensive side of his game before he considers placing him in the Chelsea starting XI

The Spanish midfielder has yet to start for the Blues in the Premier League this season and has been put on the back-burner in favour of players like Nemanja Matic.

The 29-year-old was given a start in Chelsea’s 4-2 EFL Cup victory against Leicester City on Tuesday where he netted twice during the win.

The Blues travel to The Spaniard’s former club Arsenal on Saturday and many fans want to see the ex-Barcelona star start the game.

However, Cesc has now revealed that Conte’s has in fact spoken to him about his role within the side and said the Italian really would like him to work on his defensive duties first to earn himself a regular starting spot.

‘He speaks a lot. He spoke to me a few times as well. He wants the midfielders to be very complete. To be physically strong,’ Fabregas told the Telegraph.

‘If you have to analyse me, maybe I’m a bit more the playmaker, creative going forward and he wants me to be a little bit more stable and compact in defence.

‘For Matic, who is the opposite of me, he wants him to be better offensively. For Oscar, for Kante, he works with every aspect for us to be the best we can.

‘I know what I can do. After 13 years I know myself very, very well. I am in a moment of my career where I feel very mature. I know physically what I can give. I know when I have to press and I choose much better my game overall. I just want to play and give my all and, hopefully, this will come soon.’
