According to Les Ferdinand, QPR’s club director of football, this season may well be Austin’s last at the club.
Both Liverpool and Tottenham have been linked with the striker after he has had a very impressive season although his current club still hope they will be able to presuade him to sign a long-term deal worth up to £50,000-a-week.
“We will be trying our best come the end of the season to make sure Charlie signs up and stays.” he said.
“But you know what we do understand is that players are ambitious. Sometimes they want to look elsewhere.”
