The former Arsenal man believes the Gunners would be right to let go of them

Former Arsenal player Charlie Nicholas has identified ten players who he thinks the Gunners should sell on – including Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud.

The Gunners fell to defeat against Liverpool at the weekend, meaning that they have now slipped to fifth place in the table. It’s also increased the pressure on Arsenal chiefs to get rid of Arsene Wenger, with many fans now having fully turned on the Frenchman.

The club’s fans have held protests over Wenger and believe now is the time for him to go and among all this, Charlie Nicholas has now had his say on the current problem at the Emirates Stadium.

For Sky Sports, he has identified ten players who he feels should leave the club in the summer as part of a huge overhaul to get the club challenging at the top again. The Gunners haven’t won the league in over ten years and yet again they have crashed out of the Champions League after an embarrassing 10-2 aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich.

Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mertesacker also named

Two of those ten players he named were Laurent Kosicelny and Olivier Giroud.

Giroud has bagged 11 goals in 27 games for Arsenal this year and has played over 100 games in total for Arsenal during his time at the club, becoming one of their main strikers.

However, Nicholas now feels it is time for the 30-year old to leave as he is no longer an essential player.

He also said the same about Koscielny, who has played a big part in the Gunner’s defence since his move to the Emirates Stadium back in 2010.

He also mentioned Per Mertesacker and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain among his ten names and believes that the sale of all these players could help the club not only to bring in better players to help them in summer but could also help them keep Alexis Sanchez, as they would be able to offer him more money and on the contract that he wants.
