Chelsea ‘determined to take Didier Drogba back

Blues boss Jose Mourinho was linked with a move for Galatasaray striker Drogba upon his return to Stamford Bridge last summer.

And ahead of teams’ Champions League last-16 clash on Wednesday in Turkey, the Sunday People reports that the pair could finally be reunited this year.

Drogba, 35, is out of contract with Gala at the end of the season and is understood to be open to a move back to London, with his wife and kids still living in Surrey.

Blues owner Abramovich wants to buck Chelsea’s trend of splashing out on attacking talent, and instead nurture their own – and the Russian billionaire, who is still friends with Drogba, sees the Ivorian as an ideal man to help with this project.

Drogba, who was signed by Mourinho in his first stint as Blues boss, helped the west Londoners to three domestic titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups and the Champions League trophy during his eight-year stint at the club.
