Reports from Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport suggest that Chelsea have accepted  a bid of €75 million for Brazilian winger Willian. The bid has come from Manchester United. Chelsea had been rejected three bids from Barcelona for the Brazilian winger, the most recent being a bid in excess of £55 million.

Willian has been strongly linked to Manchester United and Barcelona for quite some time. The winger himself was not very pleased at Stamford Bridge as he was not a huge admirer of the tactics deployed by then-manager Antonio Conte.

It is believed that the deal consists of several clauses and additions. A part of the deal says that Gary Cahill could also come to Old Trafford along with Willian. Manchester United have been in a hunt for a center-back for quite some time. They are were keen on signing Toby Alderweireld and Harry Maguire but the asking prices for both players is an astronomical sum. Hence, provided they can’t sign either of Maguire and Alderweireld then Gary Cahill could be a very experienced option. Another alternative that the Red Devils had was Barcelona’s Yerry Mina.

Manchester United are in dire need of a winger as Anthony Martial has expressed his desire to leave Old Trafford. Mourinho is interested in signing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan but Willian is just as good an option.

If the Red Devils manage to get Willian’s signature, then their attacking depth will be enhanced. Willian had a terrific season with Chelsea personally and had a fairly decent World Cup with Brazil, assisting a goal.
