Atletico Madrid look set to capture the signing of Jose Callejon instead of Chelsea. The Blues have of course taken three Madrid players this summer in Diego Costa, Filipe Luis and Thibaut Courtois(who they recalled).
Now, Atletico look set to get some retribution on the Stamford Bridge side, as they bid to beat them to the signing of 27-year old Callejon. Diego Simeone has made a £16m bid, but Jose Mourinho has other ideas.
He believes he can convince the winger to join him in London because he used to boss Callejon at Real Madrid. However, a move back to Spain, his homeland, may appear more attractive. Callejon had a pretty bad goalscoring record for Real Madrid when he was last in La Liga as he played 55 times and scored just 8.
But he has improved vastly for Napoli, scoring 15 in 37 games. Now, both teams are ready to battle for his signature.
