Chelsea have reportedly held talks with Real Madrid over a possible deal that would see Ramires and Luka Modric swap clubs. Carlo Ancelotti is quite a big fan of the Blues midfielder and the Stamford Bridge club may now use the player to help them land Modric.
According to these reports, which are coming from Spain, Chelsea would offer Madrid £10m and Ramires for the Croatian and talks are currently ongoing. It is believed that Ancelotti want’s an extra £10m before he even considers doing business, but Jose Mourinho is holding firm.
These reports also claim that Chelsea would much rather sign Modric than Cesc Fabregas, who has also been linked with the club in these past few weeks. While the Blues are desperate to sign Modric, the player who could be heading in the oppsoite direction, Ramires, is thought to be happy to link-up with Carlo Ancelotti again in Spain, but he won’t hand in a transfer request or try to push for a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Talks will continue for the next few days, as the two clubs try to reach an agreement.
