London duo punished by the FA

Chelsea and West Ham United have both been dealt fines by the Football Association for failing to control their players during the London derby last month.

It was a match that the Hammers won 2-1, but it was Chelsea who stole all the headlines, but for all the wrong reasons. Nemanja Matic was sent off and Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands, along with one of his coaching staff.

Chelsea have been fined ÂŁ50,000 by the FA, and West Ham have been fined ÂŁ40,000 after both accepting charges of misconduct.

The incident came following Matic‘s dismissal when both sets of players clashed, and the FA have charged them both for failing to control their players.

Statement

An FA statement read: “Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing, West Ham United and Chelsea have been fined ÂŁ40,000 and ÂŁ50,000 respectively after both clubs admitted an FA misconduct charge.
