Chelsea and West Ham have started making their moves to secure the signing of Nigeria Under 17 international Orji Okonkwo.

According to sources, representatives of the English Premier League clubs will fly into the country on Wednesday to begin talks with Orji Okonkwo’s mother and current club St Thomas Football Club, who own the striker’s economic and sporting rights.

However, despite his lack of playing time in the group stage at the Fifa Under 17 World Cup, the 17 – year – old star still put himself on the map after scoring a 35 yard cracker in the semi final win over Mexico.

just before the tournament in Chile, Okonkwo was dropped from the Golden Eaglets first squad twice after falling out of favor with current coach Emmanuel Amuneke.

He was also loaned out to Football College Abuja in November 2013 and the capital outfit did not pay a single pound for his services, as no document was ever signed.
