Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has revealed that Chelsea enquired about his services this Summer before re-appointing Jose Moruinho.

The Danish boss had an impressive season last year for the Welsh side, guiding them to a Capital One Cup victory at Wembley and also a top-half finish in the Premier League.

There were reports suggesting that Spanish side FC Barcelona were interested in Laudrup, but he eventually stayed on at the Liberty Stadium.

However, today the Dane has revealed that Chelsea asked about his availability after Rafael Benitez’s departure.

‘Someone from Chelsea wanted to know about my availability, but there was never anything concrete.

‘Either way, I had already given Swansea my word that I would be not be leaving.’
