Chelsea star Eden Hazard has claimed that under Jose Mourinho, the side do not aim to play football, they just aim to sit back and then hit teams on the counter.

The comments came from the Belgium after they lost 3-1 at home to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Semi-Final, and it will spark further rumours about the midfielder’s future at Stamford Bridge after previously being linked with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Blues took a 1-0 lead when Fernando Torres’ deflected shot found it’s way past on-loan Blues ‘keeper Thibaut Courtois, but an equaliser from the visitors right on half-time meant Chelsea had to score again.

A Diego Costa penalty all-but sealed Madrid’s passage to the final, where they will face fierce-rivals Real Madrid, and a third goal to make it 3-1 on the night and on aggregate sealed the tie and eliminated Mourinho’s men.

After the game in an interview, Hazard was clearly unimpressed with Mourinho’s tactics and style of football he has brought to the club, and he admitted that they don’t try and play football anymore in the big matches.

‘Chelsea aren’t set up to play football. Chelsea are set up to counter-attack.’ The Belgium international was quoted as saying.
