Having failed to reach an agreement with the Serie A club over a new contract , the Senegalese centre-half has now decided his time in Italy is over.
Did anyone notice the title of this article rhymed like rap?, No?, Ok. moving on.
So I’m cruising around reading the news, then this little gem pops up from the ever reliable Metro, who are saying that Blues have won the race to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly for £30million, That’s the equivalent to the amount of money Donald Trump spends on his hair or whatever that is on his head each year.
It turns out Koulibaly has decided that his run over in Italy is pretty much over, there were some negotiations between the player and Italian club Napoli but it all went sour, the club’s spat it, the player has spat it, everyone has the ump.
Now we find out that Chelsea tried to sign him back in May, however there were some complications over image rights, so a deal didn’t happen.
Fast forward to present day and New incoming Boss Antonio Conte wants to build his side around this lad and have stolen a march on London rivals Arsenal who are also reportedly keen to get him over the Emirates, but it looks like the Gunners just couldn’t get up there and take top spot. <— See what I did there 😉
But in all seriousness, the deal is set to go through once the player has agreed a severance package with Serie A Club Napoli.
So, just to sum it all up: Chelsea have set a deal in place to sign Kalidou Koulibaly for £30million, Conte wants to build the team around the player, the deal is set to be completed after all ties between Koulibaly and Napoli, and Arsenal were interested as well but couldn’t get in time to table an offer.
