According to the Daily Star, Chelsea have beaten Liverpool to Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after submitting an improved £35m offer

Oxlade-Chamberlain has only one year left on his current contract and his future at the Emirates is in serious doubt as he’s yet to find an agreement with the Gunners over an extension.

The 23-year-old has attracted a lot of interest from other Premier League clubs with the reports saying Chelsea and Liverpool have both indicated they are willing to pay £25m for the Arsenal outcast.

Jurgen Klopp is currently in the market for another midfielder and may be looking towarda Oxlade-Chamberlain as an alternative target after failing to persuade RB Leipzig to sell Naby Keita.

However, it looks as though Liverpool could be beaten to the punch as the Daily Star claim that after seeing their initial £25m bid rejected by Arsenal, Chelsea have now tabled an improved £35m offer for The Ox.

Reports also claim Oxlade-Chamberlain is keen on playing for Chelsea as they are able to offer him Champions League football as well as meet his £120,000-a-week wage demands.
