Reports claim that Chelsea have begun talks to sign Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund. The Blues are in the race to sign the American teenager with Liverpool. The Reds have shown interest in signing him for quite some time. As a matter of fact, Liverpool tried to sign him in 2016 but their bid of £11 million was rejected.
The American attacking midfielder is one of the most talented young prospects currently. He had a terrific season with Borussia Dortmund, scoring 5 goals and registering 7 assists. He has also done well in the pre-season tour, having scored two goals in Borussia Dortmund’s 3-1 win over Liverpool at Charlotte.
Pulisic is currently valued at £65 million and has another two years left on his contract at Westfalenstadion. Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is keen to fortify Chelsea’s midfield, having signed Jorginho from Napoli. The addition of Pulisic to Chelsea’s setup would make them heavy contenders to lift the title.
This summer’s transfer window has been pretty hectic for the Blues. They are fighting out Real Madrid and Barcelona to keep three of their star players Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois and Willian at Stamford Bridge.
Earlier, Pulisic’s father had hinted that the teenager might be willing to move to England.
