Antonio Conte has said that referee Mark Clattenburg’s departure from the Premier League is ‘bad’ for English football.

 

Blues manager Antonio Conte says referee Mark Clattenburg’s departure from the Premier League is bad for English football.

Clattenburg left the Premier League to take up a role at the Saudi Arabian football association.

And Chelsea boss Conte said is was a bad day for English football that the official has moved on.

“It is a pity because he is really good,” Conte said.

“It is a pity he wants to go and do this choice.

“It is not good news for us because it is important to have the best in the country.

“He is one of the best to have in the country.

“I have great confidence for the referees in England. If you ask me I am sorry for this.”
