Antonio Conte has revealed he was faced with multiple problems following his arrival at The Blue’s
The Italian claims the problems were created during Jose Mourinho’s rocky final campaign at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have come under a lot of media speculation. a lot of it saying Conte will leave and Diego Costa having to respond to China rumours.
It hasn’t been the easiest of seasons for the newly appointed Blues boss, he and the players have been under the microscope from day one.
This time round Antonio has outlined just how much he has bought the club back from the brink.
Mourinho was sacked just seven months after guiding The Blue’s to the Premier League title and left the team 16th in the table, only one point above the relegation zone.
The Blue’s recovered under Guus Hiddink to finish 10th, however, Conte insists he was forced ‘solve the problem with the players’ last summer.
Conte has done wonders with Chelsea Football Club, with Pundit and former player Jamie Redknapp heaping praise on the Italian as well.
However, The Blue’s boss admits he inherited a mess.
‘I’d like to underline that the start of the season wasn’t easy because we faced a lot of problems, we had to solve a lot of problems,’ said the Italian.
‘I repeat, when you finish 10th in the league, it means the problem is not only one, but there are a lot of problems.
‘The problem is not only one person, you must divide the fault, for this reason we tried to start the season by trying to solve the problems with the players, we tried to find a solution with my staff, they were created in the last season,
‘I have to thank my players and the staff because they worked very hard to change this.
‘I have to say thanks to my players because it’s not easy to adapt to a new method, a new philosophy, to work very hard to change totally, when you compare this season with the past.
‘We are doing a really good job, but I want it to become great and fantastic, we have two big opportunities to finish in the right way.’
