Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that the club will be signing no strikers in January, despite them being linked with a move for FC Porto striker Jackson Martinez.
The Blues have been scouting Martinez heavily over the last few weeks and reports suggested earlier in the week that a potential deal had been agreed after the Colombian’s agent made a trip to London to talk terms with Roman Abramovich and co.
However, in today’s press conference, Mourinho revealed that no strikers will be leaving the club and no strikers will be joining the club in January.
The Blues’ current trio of strikers of Demba Ba, Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o are struggling in front of goal, but the manager has faith that they will be good enough until the Summer at least.
