Chelsea are hopeful of landing Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia when his contract expires in the summer, according to Calciomercato.
Despite having the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Nemanja Matic, and N’Golo Kante at their disposal, reports are suggesting Chelsea will still move for Lazio Midfielder Lucas Biglia when his contract with the Italian side runs out in the summer.
Baglia, 31, has been with Lazio since joining from Anderlecht in 2013, and has been capped by his national side, Argentina, 48 times.
Aead of the 2016-17 season, Biglia’s future at the club became uncertain after there were no contract offers and would discussed his future following the end of Copa América Centenario, eventually, he stayed at the club throughout the summer and continued to remain in the first team despite suffering from injuries.
However, it appears that the uncertainty around Biglia’s future has returned once more, and his head may well be turned if an offer from the current Premier League leaders comes in.
It seems odd that Chelsea would be tempted by Bigli, especially at the age of 31, when they have better options already on their books and the financial power to sign almost any midfielder they wish.
Perhaps Conte is looking for some more experienced back up to take the strain from some of his current squad, or perhaps this report is infact just based on rumor.
