Queens Park Rangers to sell goalkeeper after drop

The Blues are reportedly close to signing QPR shot-stopper Robert Green.

Chelsea are currently preparing for life after the exit of club legend Petr Cech, expected to happen at the end of the season.

Cech’s Demise

The veteran is reportedly unhappy with the amount of game-time he’s had this season at Stamford Bridge and is finally ready to leave the club, ending his long-term association.

Cech was told at the beginning of last season that he wouldn’t be the regular number-one anymore, but he insisted that he’d stay and fight for his place.

However, a year later with minimal games this season, the goalkeeper is now ready to leave and has alerted both Arsenal and Liverpool.

Potential Replacement

With much speculation over a possible replacement, reports this week have claimed that a ÂŁ2m bid for Robert Green may go through.

The Englishman may rival Thibaut Courtois for some games after impressing for relegated QPR, despite a poor defence.

The R‘s suffered yet another relegation from the Premier League and will be back in the Championship next season, meaning they could lose some of their stars.

Several of their players are on free transfers this Summer with their contract expiring, but it’s believed they will also have to sell some of their bigger names, with Green being one of them.

Second Summer Signing

If the deal goes through as expected then he will be the second summer sign for The Blues, joining Brazilian midfielder Nathan.
