Chelsea to replace Conte with Enrique

Chelsea and Luis Enrique are ‘close to an agreement’ which would see the former Barcelona manager replace Antonio Conte this summer, according to reports in France.

Antonio Conte signed for Chelsea in 2016 on a three year contract but looks set to leave Stamford Bridge after just 2 seasons in England. He won the Premier League in his first season and even became the first manager in the history to win 3 consecutive Manager of the month awards.

But this season has been a roller coaster ride for him.His new signings haven’t performed well and only possibility of winning Silverware is FA Cup.They are also 5 points adrift from UEFA Champions League Qualification.

Chelsea are looking for a new manager and Enrique has now emerged as the front-runner to succeed Conte a year after leaving Barca.

Luis Enrique had a very successful spell at Barcelona winning treble(La Liga,Copa Del Rey and UEFA Champions League) in his first season only.He left Barcelona after his contract expired and is now ready for a new challenge.Enrique, 47, played for Sporting Gijon, Real Madrid and Barcelona before retiring in 2004.

Paris Saint-Germain, who are set to dispense with boss Unai Emery ahead next season, have also set their sights on Enrique. But Le Parisien report that the Ligue 1 giants have now pulled out of the race because he is on the verge of agreeing to join Chelsea.
