Premier League side Chelsea are confident that they can get a deal done within the next 48-hours for Anzhi Makhachkala striker Samuel Eto’o.
The Russian club are in a financial crises at the moment after spending big money over the last two seasons and they are now desperate to sell some of their big-earners and Eto’o is one of those, currently earning around £360k-a-week.
It is believed that Chelsea will be paying £32million to Anzhi, but that is for both Eto’o and midfielder Willian, who is very close to finalising his move to Stamford Bridge.
The deal for Eto’o is expected to be completed within the next two days and the Cameroon striker will be offered a one-year contract by Jose Mourinho, who he has worked with before during his time at Inter Milan.
Mourinho is clearly not happy with Chelsea’s current strikers and even choice to play no recognised forward against Manchester United on Monday night, but the arrival of a player like Eto’o may give The Blues a bit of extra fire-power.
