Chelsea coach Antonio Conte ‘ready to fight’ Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho in astonishing war of words

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte has been in a remarkable war of words with Manchester United nemesis Jose Mourinho.

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte was initially angered by Manchester United’s manager Jose Mourinho’s comments about ‘being a clown’ after celebrating goals.

Mourinho said: “Because I don’t behave as a clown on the touchline, it means that I lost my passion.

“I prefer to behave the way I am doing it, much more mature, better for my team and myself, I don’t think you have to behave like a crazy guy on the touchline to have that passion.

Conte took this as an insult as the Italian manager usually celebrates wildly after his team scores. So Conte jabbed Mourinho back by insisting that Mourinho has “demenza senile” as Mourinho must have forgotten his famous wild celebrations while manager at Porto and Chelsea.

The Italian said: “I think he has to see himself in the past – maybe he was speaking about himself in the past.”

But afterwards, Mourinho landed a brutal uppercut to Conte by referring to his past allegations of not reporting match fixing in Italy- which Conte served a four month ban for, but was ultimately cleared of any wrong doing.

Mourinho said: “The only way I want to end the story is: yes, I made mistakes in the past on the touchline… [but] what has never happened to me and will never happen is to be suspended for match-fixing.”

Conte has accused Mourinho of making press conferences a “cinema” and stated that he’d fight any manager who continues to dig insults at him.

“I am starting to be a bit annoyed because if you want to go to fight with me, I am ready. I have zero problems.”
