Chelsea have confirmed Marco van Ginkel is set to leave on loan again in January.
The 23-year-old’s career at the Blues has been set back by the knee ligament injury he sustained in his first season with Chelsea and has since spent most of his time out on loan with the likes of AC Milan, Stoke and PSV.
Van Ginkel played for the Blues’s Under-23 side in Tuesday’s EFL Trophy match, which was against Oxford, afterwards coach Adi Viveash revealed the midfielder would likely be on his way in January again.
‘Marco had an injection in the knee and trained pre-season with the loan players.
‘He has been with us a couple of weeks now.
‘His thing is gaining match fitness. He has not had a major injury.
‘Obviously for Marco he will be getting ready for January and then I will imagine he will be looking to play senior football as he has done previously.
‘I imagine a loan deal is likely for him.’
