Reports are claiming the Blues have refused to be drawn into any bidding war with rivals Manchester United and will now look elsewhere instead.
Chelsea have tried four times now since last summer to sign Premier League ace John Stones but the Toffees held on firmly and kept the 21-year-old star at Goodison Park.
It was also reported Roman Abramovich would offer up £40m this summer , however with United and Manchester City interested that might not be enough to secure the deal.
And Chelsea are are in no way willing to go any higher and will pull the plug on any move for the youngster.
The England defender has played 30 times in the Premier League this season for Roberto Martinez.
Incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte is said to be very keen on Stones but isn’t too bothered as he has a lot of other options on his shortlist.
Barcelona are another club said to be interested in the young Everton star.
