Chelsea dealt Guarin transfer blow

The midfielder has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, Chelsea being the most likely club to sign him for the past year. But recently the Colombian has signed a new deal at the San Siro and the chances of a transfer reduced drastically.

But with many reports still emerging linking Guarin with a Stamford Bridge move, Guarin has set the record straight and has said he has no intention of leaving Inter.

During a Nike event in Milan, Guarin was quoted saying: “I have agreed a deal for another three years, and I hope to sign another contract once that one’s up,”

“I have not signed thinking that I will leave. I feel good here.”

Guarin has been in fine form for the Milan side this season, helping his team to 5th in the table with 3 goals and 6 assists from his deep midfield position.

This news will be a blow to Chelsea as they could use his expewrince and skill to further improve their chances of winning the league next season. With John Obi Mikel set to leave to join Inter, Guarin would have been a more than adequate replacement, but the Colombian has pledged his future to the San Siro side.
