Chelsea are not looking to let Davide Zappacosta leave at this moment.
The player has been on the top of the target list for Lazio this January.
According to a reliable source, Chelsea right-back Davide Zappacosta is on the radar of Serie A giants Lazio who want to get him out of Stamford Bridge. However, the report also states that the Blues are not willing to let him leave this January as that would only add to their problems that they are already facing this season.
The Blues have not been able to get enough attacking threat up front this season with players like Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud not being able to make a mark this season. The situation has been so dire that the Italian gaffer Maurizio Sarri has had to use Eden Hazard as a striker in the last few matches. Besides, with Bayern Munich looking to price away young winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, there has been a dearth of attacking options at the west London club and it is reflecting in their results on the pitch as well.
Though Zappacosta has been largely used as a backup in the defence or as a wingback, losing him would leave Chelsea one short of their backup options, as per the report. So the Blues are not willing to take any unnecessary risks by cashing on their Italian right back at the moment.
