Ramires and Nathan Ake set for new deals
Chelsea Football Club are thought to be in contract talks with Ramires and Nathan Ake.
According to reports, the duo are already in talks with the West London outfit regarding new deals, and it’s expected formal announcements will be made before the start of next season.
Ramires Contract Talks
Despite holding contract talks, Ramires still has two years left on his current contract, but amid interest from Italian clubs, Jose Mourinho and Roman Abramovich are keen to get him tied down on a longer deal.
The Brazilian signed a five-year deal back in 2012, but has since fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge due to the arrivals of Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas.
However, Mourinho is still keen on keeping the 28-year-old at the club.
Ake Contract Talks
As for Ake, the young Dutch defender has impressed Mourinho and he wants to reward the centre-back with a new long-term deal.
The 20-year-old has been with Chelsea FC since 2011, and graduated from the youth set up in 2012. Despite Mourinho’s admiration for the Dutchman, he is yet to break into The Blues‘ first-team, making just five senior appearances.
However, Mourinho sees Ake as one for the future and wants to get him tied down on a longer contract.
The club is confident both players will sign deals in the upcoming weeks.
