Chelsea stars Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard were the two driving forced behind the decision to sack Jose Mourinho, according to reports.
The midfield-duo were well documented to have beef with Mourinho throughout the season, with Hazard personally requesting a position change, and Fabregas accused of being a mole.
Despite both being adamant that there were no issues between themselves and the boss, reports have now suggested that they were the two behind the decision to sack Mourinho.
The Portuguese lost his job on Thursday following nine defeats from 16 games.
Driving Forces
According to NBC Sports, Fabregas was the main star revolting against Mourinho after he was dropped to the bench several times, but the Spaniard wasn’t the only one.
The same reports claim more and more players joined the revolt with every passing defeat, and after it got to a certain stage, Roman Abramovich decided it was time to sack the manager.
Guus Hiddink is expected to take over on an interim basis.
