Chelsea duo set for return

Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side have been handed a double injury boost, as Didier Drogba and Ramires are both nearing returns to full fitness.

Their injuries had left the side weaker in their absences with Ramires becoming a consistent starter in the Blues side since his arrival from Benfica in the summer of 2010, and Drogba adding depth to a fragile front line with Diego Costa and Loic Remy the only other forward options.

Drogba only returned to the club this summer, but has been used sparingly in his return mainly down to the superb form of fellow new arrival Costa, who has netted nine goals in a total of nine appearances.

However, his return will give Mourinho the comfort that there’s depth in his side provided there were further injuries to his side.

Ramires on the other hand, has been a regular for Chelsea and although the current Premier League leaders have plenty of cover in the midfield department, the Brazilian has endeared himself to the fans due his ability to run up and down the field with great attacking and defensive abilities and it seems Mourinho has utilised this ability too, and so his return will be a welcome boost to the side.

Chelsea will now have an almost fully fit squad ahead of their trip to Selhurst Park this weekend.
