Arsenal and Liverpool joined by Premier League champions
Chelsea have entered the race to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xkaha, according to reports.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been strongly linked with a move away from the Bundesliga club, with Arsenal and Liverpool the two sides linked with signing him.
However, according to reports this morning, Chelsea have now entered the race and are also keen on bringing him over to England.
Xhaka is valued at around £37million, and speaking about the midfielder, Monchengladbach‘s sporting director Max Eberl admitted that there is a chance he will leave in this window.
Xhaka Sale Likely
“There are always situations where every club has to think of each option,” Eberl told German television station WDR.
“It [a possible sale of Xhaka] depends partly on our sporting success. It depends on the performances of Granit and of course on the price.
“As of today we are glad that he is with us and hope that he stays for a long time.
“There’s no number [a price threshold] for me.”
According to German publication, Bild, Chelsea have now entered the race for the midfielder and could offer up to £37m for him as well.
Xhaka’s contract expires in Germany during the summer of 2019.
