Blues want to land Borussia Dortmund right-back

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Borussia Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter, according to reports.

The Blues have recently been heavily linked with strengthening their back-line, with John Stones and Marquinhos targeted over the summer, and more new faces added to the list this window.

Chelsea announced the arrival of centre-back Matt Miazga yesterday after signing him from New York Red Bulls, and they are now linked with making a formal move for Dortmund‘s right-back.

Ivanovic Replacement

It’s well documented that Branislav Ivanovic has suffered for form this season, and despite signing a one-year extension at Stamford Bridge, it’s believed they are looking for a suitable replacement.

They’ve already been linked with Real Madrid‘s Dani Carvajal, but according to today’s reports, Ginter is another possibility.

The 22-year-old has had an impressive campaign for the Bundesliga side, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed, with both Chelsea and Juventus interested in signing him.

It’s reported that Dortmund would want around £13million for the right-back, but they wouldn’t be willing to sell until the summer.
