Rudiger is heavily linked with a move away from Stuttgart
Chelsea have emerged as front runners to sign Stuttgart centre back Antonio Rudiger, after a loan deal to Roma reportedly collapsed.
Arsenal are also after the highly talented centre back, who already has six caps for Germany.
But TalkSport claim that the 22 year old could be set to move to Stamford Bridge for £20 million, with the Blues having had two bids rejected for their number one target John Stones.
Roma are understood to have approached Stuttgart about taking Rudiger on a season long loan, but their enquiry was immediately turned down.
The Italian side could yet come back with a permanent offer, following the sale of Alessio Romagnoli to AC Milan.
Rudiger made his senior debut in 2011 for Stuttgart’s second team, before becoming a regular in the first team squad from 2012.
In all he has made 66 appearances for the Bundesliga club, scoring twice.
