Juan Mata has revisited his Chelsea memories prior to Manchester United’ visit to Stamford Bridge.

Mata established himself on the world football stage following his arrival to Chelsea in 2011 from Valencia. But after spending just three years in West London he moved to Manchester United in 2014.

Mata has been an integral part of the first team set up and will return to his old hunting ground when the Red Devils entertain Chelsea in a much anticipated clash this weekend.

United have been struggling to hit the ground in the Premier League and are currently placed in the eighth position while Chelsea currently hold the second spot in the top flight.

Mata said, “It’s always a special game for me against Chelsea and it will be tough – they are doing good.

“They have a new manager and they play with more or less the same players but in a certain style.

”I know many players and people from the backroom staff there,“ he added. ”Cesar Azpilicueta is a very good friend from the time I was playing there. David Luiz is still there, Willian’s still there. Eden Hazard, who is a good friend, and Gary Cahill… so there are still some players there I know.“
