Spaniard could be fit to face Arsenal

Chelsea have been given a massive boost going into Sunday’s game with Arsenal after Jose Mourinho revealed that Diego Costa could be fit enough to start.

The Spaniard has been out injured with a hamstring issue since the start of April and was expected to miss at least a month, but Mourinho has confirmed that he has a chance of being fit for the trip to the Emirates Stadium.

Costa missed The Blues’ 1-0 win over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge which allowed Didier Drogba to start and play the full 90-minutes, but with the Ivorian and Loic Remy both injured, Mourinho was facing a selection headache.

Costa Fit in Time?

However, he confirmed today that the club’s top goalscorer could be back in time for the 4pm kick-off in North London.

“I would love Diego to be back but I trust other people,” he said.
“This week, because we are not sure about him, we decided Solanke shouldn’t play yesterday in the U21s so we could have him fresh and ready.“I don’t know if we’ll play Solanke or Didier and Diego. We’ll make that decision tomorrow.

“Diego, if not Arsenal, he’ll be back for Leicester.”

Costa scored in the reverse fixture earlier this year at Stamford Bridge. The game ended 2-0 to Chelsea.
