Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has given Premier League side Chelsea a huge boost in their pursuit after it was revealed that he has no intentions of discussing a new contract at the Spanish giants.
The 31-year-old is entering his final year at the Bernabeu and despite the club desperate to keep hold of the Spaniard, Alonso himself is more laid back and is not interested in talking about a new deal just yet.
The former-Liverpool star has been watched by Chelsea for a few months now and Jose Mourinho is keen on reuiniting with the Spaniard after they built a friendship during their spell together in Spain.
If Alonso and Madrid don’t come to an agreement, next Summer could see the midfield-man leave on a free.
