Chelsea have offer rejected for Colombian winger

Juan Cuadrado has been linked with a move to the Premier League leaders since last summer

Chelsea have had an initial offer of £20.6m turned down by Fiorentina for Colombian World Cup star Juan Cuadrado.

Rumours have intensified about a move to the Premier League for the 26-year-old, but Chelsea may be deterred by Fiorentina’s unwillingness to accept anything less than the £26.8m release clause stated in his contract.

However, it is thought that the Blues would have to sell Andre Schurrle and Mohamed Salah to fund a move for the Colombian.

Cuadrado starred for his country during last year’s World Cup in Brazil alongside recent Real Madrid recruit James Rodriguez, finishing with the same number of assists as World Cup winner Toni Kroos.
