Chelsea hoping to nab Juan Cuadrado before Manchester United

Cuadrado is one of the summer’s hottest properties after following up a stunning season in Serie A by a strong showing at the World Cup – and Fiorentina are ready to cash in.

They’ve told the player he can leave for £36million, and while United and Barca have both made bids and are in talks over a deal, El Mundo Deportivo says Chelsea are now firmly in the race.

The newspaper says the decision to allow Marko Marin to join Fiorentina has sweetened the deal – and the Blues now hope that they will be the preferred bidders.

Jose Mourinho has already insisted that he isn’t looking to add to his squad, but has since signed Didier Drogba and has been strongly linked with a £30million move for Mehdi Benatia
