Striker is a Free-Agent in the Summer

Chelsea have reportedly joined the race to sign Burnley striker Danny Ings in the summer, according to Goal.com.

The West Londoners’ are one of a host of Premier league sides, who are interested in the 22-year-old Ings, who is out of contract at Turf Moor at the end of the season, and is yet to commit to a new deal with the Clarets.

Despite Sean Dyche’s side staring relegation in the face at the foot of the table, Ings has been one of the stand out performers for the East Lancashire side, having netted eleven goals to his name.

Jose Mourinho views Ings as a quality back-up to Diego Costa, and believe they can win the race for the in-demand forward, who was linked with Spanish side Real Sociedad.

Summer scramble for Ings?

With Ings looking ever increasingly set to depart Burnley in the coming weeks, aside from Chelsea, the Blues have had competition from several top-flight sides.

Manchester United and Liverpool are also looking at a potential deal to sign the player in the summer, with the latter failing to agree a deal for Ings in the January window.
