Chelsea are hopeful of signing Athletic Bilbao star Oscar de Marcos, according to reports.
The Blues still have several options in the centre of the park despite selling Ramires to the Chinese Super League in January, but officials at Stamford Bridge are still keen on signing a replacement for the Brazilian.
Chelsea currently have Cesc Fabregas, Nemanja Matic, John Obi Mikel and Ruben Loftus-Cheek as central options, but with possibly two of those leaving in the summer, the Premier League champions could have to bolster their options once again.
With Antonio Conte linked with the managerial hot-seat, he’s already identified Radja Nainggolan and Arturo Vidal as potential summer transfers, but the club officials are keen on Bilbao‘s midfield-man.
The 26-year-old has been watched regularly by Chelsea officials, and they could be ready to launch a formal bid for De Marcos at the end of the season.
Officials at Stamford Bridge believed De Marcos’ high energy and work-rate means he’s the perfect replacement for Ramires.
