Striker set to leave Paris Saint-Germain
Chelsea have held talks with Paris Saint Germain over a deal for talismanic striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to reports.
The Blues are in the market for a top centre forward to accompany last summer’s marquee signing Diego Costa.
Loic Remy and the young duo of Patrick Bamford and Isaiah Brown are the only other strikers in the squad, with Didier Drogba having left.
Despite PSG knocking Chelsea out of last season’s Champions League, Ibrahimovic is said to be after a move away from Paris.
Reports in Italy suggest that Chelsea have met with the player’s representatives in Berlin over a proposed deal.
The Sweden international captain is on a mega contract at the Parc des Princes, but would be willing to accept a smaller wage, if he was to sign a long term deal.
Zlatan wants a £7 million-a-year contract
Ibrahimovic has never hidden his desire of linking up again with former boss Jose Mourinho.
He has previously said his one regret in football was not playing under the current Chelsea manager for longer.
In the one season they worked together at Inter Milan, Inter won the domestic title, with Ibrahimovic ending up Serie A top goal scorer.
The 33 year old has played in La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and the Eredivisie, but never in the Premier League.
