The Blues are on the lookout for new additions in the right-back position
Chelsea have launched a bid to sign Davide Zappacosta from Torino.
According to reports from Italy, the player is the subject of a bid from the reigning Premier League champions and could now be on his way to England.
Antonio Conte has made it clear that he wants to bring in another right-back/right wing-back before the transfer deadline tonight but has so far failed with bids for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rafinha.
It seems he has now turned his attention to Italy and to Torino’s Zappacosta, who has impressed in Serie A for the club.
Debuted back in 2015
The Italian side gave the 25-year old his debut in 2015 and since then, he has put in a number of impressive showings for the Serie A side.
He’s clearly impressed Chelsea bosses, who see him as a good addition to their squad.
Earlier today, the Blues launched a bid for Rafinha (as reported here by us), only to have the bid turned down by Bayern Munich.
It now appears that they have quickly turned their attention away from the Bundesliga star and are ready to bring in Zappacosta on a permanent deal instead.
