Blues want stadium as their temporary home

Chelsea Football Club have offered the FA £11million to use Wembley as their temporary stadium whilst Stamford Bridge undergoes drastic changes.

The Blues want to convert their stadium into a 60,000 seater, but whilst making the changes, they will need to find a ground to play in and use as their temporary home.

Wembley had been one stadium mentioned, as had Twickenham, the home of English rugby, but it looks like Chelsea have their eyes set on the former.

Stamford Bridge Changes

According to reports, Chelsea will offer the FA £11m in order to play their home games at Wembley for the next three years during reconstruction of Stamford Bridge.

Roman Abramovich is the leading force behind the changes to the current stadium, as he wants to leave his legacy on the club before handing it over to his son.

Abramovich wants to turn The Bridge into a ‘cathedral of football‘ and will give it an old-fashioned twist.

According to reports, Chelsea want to start using Wembley for the 2017/2018 stadium and will give the FA £11m for the usage of the ground.
