Blues ready to break the bank for Juventus star

Chelsea are ready to make Juventus star Paul Pogba their highest paid player ever by offering him a staggering £300k-a-week.

The Blues have been heavily linked with signing the Frenchman over the past few months, and even had a bid accepted last summer, only to see the move be rejected by the player himself.

Chelsea had a formal bid accepted by the Serie A giants, but their contract offer was turned down by Pogba as he revealed he had no desire to leave Juve for Stamford Bridge.

Despite being snubbed by Pogba over the summer, Chelsea are prepared to renew their interest in the midfielder and in order to make sure he accepts this time around, they are ready to make him the club’s highest paid player ever.

Record-Breaking Offer

According to reports, Chelsea will offer him a contract worth around £300k-a-week, which would break their record in terms of player salary.

The only issue for the London club is that they may not be able to provide Pogba with Champions League football next season. Due to their shocking start, Chelsea are way off the top-four and are looking set to finish below fourth, meaning their only chances of being in the competition next season is to win it this year.

In doing so they will have to overcome a 2-1 deficit to Paris Saint-Germain next week.
